Choice of prawns - one kg (just over two pounds)
white vinegar- 750 ml
Turmeric powder- one tsp
Dry red chillies- two dozen
cumin seeds- four tsp
Ginger- a thumb sized piece
Garlic cloves-15 to 20
oil- seven tbsp
salt- to taste
